The Together, We Are Strong campaign is a partnership between the Yellowknife Community Foundation and United Way NWT to raise funds for the immediate requirements of community groups supporting those left vulnerable by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Yellowknife Community Foundation will match every dollar donated to the United Way NWT between now and May 29, 2020, to a maximum of $75,000, to support these groups to deliver their vital programming. This is an increase of $25,000 from their initial pledge to match donations. To maximize donations the deadline for donations has been extended until May 29, 2020. The kindness we’ve seen from has been inspiring. Thank you, NWT, for proving that Together, We Are Strong!

With nearly 50 years of collective experience supporting the people of the North, the Yellowknife Community Foundation (founded in 1993) and the United Way NWT (founded in 2001) are joining forces to raise funds for the immediate requirements of community groups supporting those left vulnerable by the Covid-19 pandemic.

United Way NWT raises money through workplace campaigns and special events, as well as through private donations to help meet the basic needs of our community’s most vulnerable people, giving every NWT resident the opportunity to realize a better future. All funds contributed to United Way NWT stays in the NWT.

The Yellowknife Community Foundation was formed in 1993 to provide interested individuals and organizations with a means of supporting projects in our community for the enduring future. The Foundation is not singularly dedicated to any specific area of support. It embodies a simple concept – that people working together can make a difference.
